These aren't giant grapes. We're showing you a magnified image of this pendant merely to drive home the point that single-sheet naksha is precious and needs proper patronage to survive.
Note the strong bas-relief of the fruits, and how the leaves of the vine droop organically to the sides. It's all chased at one go and at least twice over with the gold placed over softened lac to get the contours correct. The chhela and engraving done on it is also noteworthy for its balance : the grapes are faceted while the leaves are frosted with the veins on them splendidly engraved. The loop contrasts with its polished and lightly engraved front.
A small jewel as it may be, this diminutive bunch of grapes holds within it the great hope that the art of true naksha will live forever through its rightful patronage.
