Picked up from the streets of Rajkot, surely ! That's not to demean the tawdry costume jewellery sold there ; it must have a widespread market. Just that this resembles those so much that it's difficult not to think 'fake' ; 'gold-plated' ; cheap gewgaw, etc. at first sight. But when you get to know it better you'll see it's not all bad : the alternating rings of karai-phul and mina dots are ingeniously strung and supported by gol-hélé chains to the sides. This makes the central arc light and hollow. The mini-kanbala locket sports a wire flower jhumka and this ensemble gives it centrepiece status without being overbearing. Everything comes together well. Only, the infill of the Kanbala pendant and the earrings is downright awful, even though the dotted tri-coloured mina border tries hard to redeem things.
That said, as a Regular Section entrée, it certainly passes muster with flying colours, and that too in hallmarked 22K gold.
