The pendant, a hand-chased dholak, reeded to include the leather straps and all, also shows the heads, frosted and engraved, at both ends. The resonator is marked with alternate chhela and frosted bands, and notches in the frosting, also seen on the straps, top and bottom, make an interesting pattern on what would otherwise have been a rather bland surface. Note how the loop reflects this finish. Green, red and pearl beads together add colour and, as jhur, give the dholak gaiety and movement, helping it come alive around your neck. The twined tassel echoes these shades and is essential to the ornament, but you could change the beads and the thread to any colour of your choice.
